 IT ALL STARTED BACK WHEN...
Alan started his career with a phone company in South Florida. Soon he was promoted to management. During a meeting, someone pointed at Alan and said, "We can’t have a meeting with a kid in here, and where are you from?" Alan pointed across the bay and said, "I was born in the hospital right across the bay, You can see it from this window." He responded, "So not only are you a kid, you are also a native. And so it began, "Native Kid". Alan was a native Floridian through and through. He grew up fishing, with his parents and grandparents, on the catwalks of the Florida Keys.
A Utility Company in South Florida hired Phil. Like Alan, he had a love of the outdoors and spent his childhood diving waters of the Florida Keys, spearing fish, avidly hunting and of course, fishing.
The two came together on a small island named "PINE ISLAND." Spending time together, they both came to realize that life is more of a "feeling". Sitting in a restaurant the two of them knew that they wanted to share this idea with everyone. The hammock design was sketched onto a napkin and this became the logo.
It’s where they want to be, on the water…in a hammock…palm trees…fishing poles and flip-flops nearby. The best moments in life for them are sharing that "no problems" state of mind with someone else.
